भगतसिंह की फाँसी के बाद यह जेल डायरी भगतसिंह की अन्य वस्तुओं के साथ उनके पिता सरदार किशन सिंह को सौंपी गई थी। सरदार किशन सिंह की मृत्यु के बाद यह नोटबुक (भगतसिंह के अन्य दस्तावेजों के साथ) उनके (सरदार किशन सिंह) पुत्र श्री कुलबीर सिंह और उनकी मृत्यु के पश्चात् उनके पुत्र श्री बाबर सिंह के पास आ गई। श्री बाबर सिंह का सपना था कि भारत के लोग भी इस जेल डायरी के बारे में जानें। उन्हें पता चले कि भगतसिंह के वास्तविक विचार क्या थे। भारत के आम लोग भगतसिंह की मूल लिखावट को देख सकें। आखिर वे प्रत्येक जाति, धर्म के लोगों, गरीबों, अमीरों, किसानों, मजदूरों, सभी के हीरो हैं।
