কবিতা গুলি পড়ার আগে এই বইটির জন্ম কথা একটু বলে নিই।
শ্রী রজনীকান্ত সেন, শ্রী সুকুমার রায় এবং ছন্দের জাদুকর শ্রী সত্যেন্দ্র নাথ দত্ত - এঁদের কবিতা পড়তে পড়তেই ছোট থেকে বড় হয়ে ওঠা। ছন্দ বরাবরই আমাকে আকর্ষণ করতো। স্কুল, কলেজের পড়াশোনা আর ফাঁকিবাজির ফাঁকে কখনো সখনো দু এক লাইন মাথায় আসতো, মিলিয়েও যেত।
চাকরি সূত্রে বহু বছর দেশ বিদেশের বিভিন্ন জায়গায় যাওয়া, থাকা এবং নানান রকমের মানুষের সাথে মেলা মেশা।
ছন্দেরা আবার উঁকি ঝুঁকি মারা শুরু করে। এবার আর তাদের হারিয়ে না ফেলে পংক্তিবদ্ধ করে সাজিয়ে ফেলি। শুভানুধ্যায়ীদের উৎসাহে সেই ছন্দমিল আকার পায় কবিতার।
পারিপার্শ্বিক, সমকাল এবং বিশেষত মানুষের মনের ভিতর যে অনুভূতি জেগে বা ঘুমিয়ে থাকে তারাই আমার কবিতার আধার।
কবিতাগুলি পড়তে পড়তে পাঠক পাঠিকার ঠোঁটের কোণে যদি আলতো হাসি ফুটে ওঠে, অথবা চোখের কোল যদি খানিক ভিজে যায় তবেই আমার '১ এ ছন্দ' র ছন্দমিল সার্থক।

Before reading the poems, let's talk a little about the birth of this book.
Shri Rajinikanth Sen, Shri Sukumar Roy and the wizard of rhyme Shri Satyendra Nath Dutta - grew up reading their poetry. Rhythm has always fascinated me. Between school and college studies and evasion, sometimes one or two lines would come to mind, and they would disappear.

Due to the job, many years of going to different places of the country and abroad, staying and mixing with different kinds of people.

Chandera starts peeking out again. Now let's line them up without losing them. With the encouragement of well-wishers, that rhythm takes the form of poetry.

Surroundings, contemporary and especially the feelings that are awake or asleep in the human mind are the source of my poetry.

The rhymes of my '1 A Chand' are worthwhile only if the reader gets a smile on the corner of his lips while reading the poems, or if the corners of his eyes get a little wet.
