प्राण यांची व्यंगचित्रकार म्हणून कारकीर्द 1960 च्या दशकात सुरु झाली जेव्हा त्यांनी दिल्ली स्थित वृत्तपत्र, मिलापसाठी काम करण्यास सुरुवात केली. नंतर त्यांनी ब्लिट्झ आणि इंडियन एक्सप्रेससह इतर प्रकाशनांसाठी काम केले. 1971 मध्ये, त्यांनी स्वतःची कॉमिक बुक मालिका सुरू केली, ज्यामध्ये श्रीमतीजी, बिल्लू आणि पिंकी सारख्या पात्रांचा समावेश होता. ही पात्रे भारतीय मुलांमध्ये आणि प्रौढांमध्ये सारखीच लोकप्रिय झाली.
